Key sector engineering industry – a micro data based look "behind the scenes"

Given the newly available micro data the structure of the engineering industry of Baden-Württemberg can be analyzed quite more detailed than earlier. With the data of the firm level a comparison with the German industry structure is also possible.

Apart from descriptive-statistical reflections diverse regression analyses are intended for which the data set provides a new potential. Within this framework it is analyzed to what extent various business characteristics of the firm level influence labour demand and therefore employment dynamics. The further analysis deals, among other things, with so-called total factor productivity.
