Better activation of labour force potentials.
The study shows the development of the labour force and the volume of work over time. Based on data such as the German Microcensus, the most important labour force potentials in Germany are described in detail. The focus is on the labour force potential of parents as well as foreign and older workers. In addition, the development of working hours is also analysed and involuntary part-time employment is addressed.
The aim was both to compile facts for the current debate and to develop proposals for solutions. With regard to the target group, a distinction is made between the legislator, the administration and companies, as well as the political level. Where relevant, developments in other EU countries were considered and their experiences in solving the labour problem were taken into account.
