Dr. Tobias Scheu

Short CV

Master of Arts, has studied Sociology and Public Administration (B.A.) at the University of Konstanz as well as Human Geography (M.A.) at the University of Tuebingen. He joined the IAW as a research associate in July 2016.

His work at the IAW focuses on the evaluation of labour market policy measures. These include, for example, the integration of refugees in the labour market, the effects of the minimum wage and the evaluation of programmes to prevent training drop-outs. In addition, he evaluates measures for the international recruitment of skilled workers and the topic of migration. He makes significant use of qualitative methods of empirical social research.

His dissertation on "Invisible people: A case study on the spatial perception of refugees in the south of Tübingen" was supervised by Prof. Dr. Dr. Kühne (Department of Geography at the University of Tübingen) and Prof. Dr. Dr. Kai Schuster (Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Department of Social Sciences).
